Called New Zealand’s ‘Garden
City’, Christchurch is blessed with many fine public parks,
gardens and reserves, the queen of which is Hagley Park. The
city’s other defining feature is the picturesque Avon
River, which winds through the city and its surrounding suburbs.
Swing high on the Christchurch Gondola; the city lies behind
you, the deep blue wash of the Pacific Ocean to the east. Ahead
is the picturesque beauty of the hills and harbours of Banks
Peninsula, to the south the Canterbury Plains stretches out
as far as the eye can see. |
